PROF. DR. FEDERICO LENZERINI

Opening Ceremony Keynote Speaker

Prof. Dr. Federico Lenzerini Professor of Public International Law, European Union Law and International Human Rights Law at the Department of Law of the University of Siena (Italy). His fields of research include human rights law, asylum and refugee law, rights of indigenous peoples, international trade law, and law of cultural heritage. He is the author of The Culturalization of Human Rights Law (Oxford University Press, 2014) and the editor of Reparations for Indigenous Peoples, International and Comparative Perspectives (Oxford University Press, 2008


DR. AMY STRECKER

Day one Keynote Speaker (AM)

Dr. Amy Strecker is an Associate Professor at the Sutherland School of Law University College Dublin, Ireland.  Dr. Strecker is a specialist in cultural heritage law, her work focuses in particular on the interplay between landscape and law, including heritage, environment, property and human rights.


DR. GARREY DENNIE

Day one Keynote Speaker (PM)

            Dr. Garrey Dennie is an Associate Professor of History at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. As a Vincentian national who has studied in the USA and has lived and taught in Africa, Dr. Dennie used this experience and expertise to create the Program in Africa and African Diaspora Studies at St. Mary’s College.  He is presently part of a team of historians writing the history of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.


PROF. ANA FILIPA VRDOLJAK

Day two Keynote Speaker (AM)

            Prof. Ana Filipa Vrdoljak, Professor of Law, Faculty of Law and UNESCO Chair of International Law and Cultural Heritage at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. She is the author of International Law, Museums and the Return of Cultural Objects (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2006, 2nd edn forthcoming) and editor of Oxford Handbook on International Cultural Heritage Law with Francesco Francioni(Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2020). This will be followed by presentations by overseas delegates and a closing ceremony


Dr. Hon. Ralph E. Gonsalves

Closing Ceremony Keynote Speaker

               Dr. Hon. Ralph E. Gonsalves is the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines from 2001- the present. Prior to him becoming the Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. Gonsalves practiced law extensively and successfully before the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in a wide range of matters, but particularly in the fields of constitutional law, administrative law, matrimonial law, real property law, the law of tort generally and the law of contract. Dr. Gonsalves has researched, written, and published extensively on a range of matters touching upon the Caribbean, African, trade unionism, comparative political economy, and developmental issues generally. Among his latest publications are: History and the Future:  A Caribbean Perspective (Quik Print, St. Vincent, 1994, The Case for Caribbean Reparatory Justice (2014) Uprising in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SFI Books 2020), and many others.
